If you want to confirm the current CTP insurer and Class for a recently acquired vehicle process a check CTP insurer transaction.
You are only able to check this information on vehicles that are owned by the dealership however, so they must have been acquired previously. They also need to be currently registered (so the registration can’t have expired, or been cancelled)
1.Open the Check CTP insurer transaction
2.Select stock vehicle, and enter the stock number or select Plate Only and enter the plate and select the state
3.Click send
The current CTP insurer will be returned as recorded on TRAILS, you will also be provided with the CTP class and the current Purpose of Use.
If the CTP class is not correct, or not relevant for Dealer POU – the send through a correction request to have this updated. Only changes to CTP class can be made this way – please see here for instruction on how to do this.
