A letter of authority, LOA, is a legal document that gives the dealership permission to sign the transaction paperwork on behalf of the customer. Remember that the customer’s signature MUST be on either a letter of authority, or the original paperwork. Your customer will have to sign the letter of authority as the primary owner (and secondary owner if there are joint owners) An authorised representative of the dealership will have to sign on behalf of the dealership
Remember that a Letter of authority is not valid unless both parties have signed it.
Letters of Authority can only be used on Transfer transactions and Registration transactions. Any other type of transaction that has the customers details on it must be signed by that customer. |
