Transfers

Top  Previous  Next

This transaction is processed when you want to transfer the registration ownership of a vehicle from your dealerships name into a customer’s name.  Obviously the vehicle needs to be currently registered to your dealership to be able to process this transaction.  You will need to have a stock card saved to be able to process this transaction (please see here for how to do this).  Remember that you should only transfer a vehicle to a customer at most 24 hours prior to delivery.

.Open the Transfer transaction

.Insert the stock number and hit tab, or click off the field

.A List Vehicle comparison will display (double check that the vehicle details are correct – if any changes need to be made, print a correction request and submit this for processing prior to continuing with your transfer)

.Click OK when satisfied that the vehicle details match

.Insert the odometer out reading (this is what was on the vehicle on the day of sale, usually located on the contract of sale)

.Confirm that the cylinders and fuel type have carried over from the stock card, if they haven’t, then enter them here

.Process a PPSR Search (if one hasn’t been processed already) (please see here for more information on processing Certificates)

.Enter the market value (this is what is recorded on the contract of sale, plus any fitted accessories)

.Enter the Transfer Date

.Select if there is a stamp duty exemption being claimed (remember that you need to be provided with evidence of the entitlement)

.Tick if you are wanting to order a certificate and label for your customer once the transfer is complete (this is not compulsory, however it is a good thing to do as this will provide some evidence of the transfer into the customers name)

.Tick if you are wanting to transfer ownership of personalised plates with the transfer (useful if you are selling a demo with personalised plates that are remaining with the vehicle)

.Click on the purchaser tab

.Select how you are making the ownership selection, either from CRN or from client card

.Select CRN1 selection if you are wanting to List a garaging address and attach to your transfer, located a CRN for an organisation, or check customer (see here , here and here for more information)

.Click on the Detail tab

.Select the correct Registration Category and Purpose of Use

.Select if your customer is entitled to receive a concession (remember that you need to receive adequate evidence that your customer is entitled to receive a concessional registration – see here for more information) and print the Concession Application form

.Tick if you are paying a renewal as part of the transfer (remember that the registration needs to be in a ‘renewable state’ – see here for more information about this) and select the CTP Class

.Select the ITC answer (remember that you need to be given clear instruction on this – don’t guess)

.Select the Inspection Tab

.Enter the Inspection Date off the safety certificate (see here for more information about safety certificates)

.Enter the inspection time off the safety certificate

.Enter the report prefix (LV for passenger cars and MC for motorcycles) and enter the certificate number and check digit
