hmtoggle_plus1        Assumptions Dealerlogic Accounting makes

Cash vs Accrual accounting

Small and medium businesses in Australia can choose whether to report to the ATO on a Cash basis or an Accrual basis.  However, Dealerlogic software does not support Cash reporting.  If you are planning to use Dealerlogic Accounting, ensure your reporting method with th ATO is currently set to Accrual, and if it is not already, arrange to have it changed.

Wages

Dealerlogic Accounting provides for weekly pay runs only, not any other pay frequency.

Reconditioning

Dealerlogic treats costs applied to stock cards as an Asset until such time as the stock card to which they are applied has been sold.  When that happens, the Sale Journal will automatically move the value of the reconditioning from the Asset account into the Cost of Sale account.  When you are collating your opening balances, ensure that costs applied to current stock is included as a current asset.  That includes costs in relation to registration etc.
