Renewal

Top  Previous  Next

This transaction will be processed when the registration on a vehicle that is in stock at your dealership is about to expire.  Normally vehicle renewals are able to be paid 6 weeks prior to expiry right up to the day of expiry without penalty, however if renewal is paid after the expiry date, then a Registration Renewal Re-instatement Fee (RRRF) must be paid.  This fee must be paid by whoever is paying the renewal, regardless of ownership.  Please see here for more information on obtaining registration expiry dates.

1.Open the Renewal Transaction

2.Enter the stock number

3.A List vehicle comparison will display showing the details recorded in your stock card and those recorded with QT

4.Click OK when you are satisfied that the details are correct

5.Enter the cylinders

6.Tick ‘print certificate and label’ (you will always want to print a new windscreen label)

7.Click on the detail tab

8.If changes to Rego category, purpose of use, concession category need to be made, indicate it here (if no changes are required, which is usually the case, then don’t make any changes)

9.Select the pay term

10.Select the ITC answer

11.Click on CTP Tab

12.Select the CTP class

13.Tick ‘I would like to issue a new CTP certificate’ if you are wanting to change the CTP insurer (this is only possible if the registration hasn’t expired)

14.Click Send

Paying renewal as part of a transfer.

This is a great time saving feature as it enables you to process two transactions as one.  Simply follow the steps for your transfer (see here for information on how to do this),

1.Click ‘pay renewal’ on the detail tab

2.Select the CTP class

3.Select the pay term

It is also possible, after the transfer transaction has been sent, to send a written request to QT to pay the renewal on your behalf, if a renewal was forgotten to be paid.  If pursuing this option, you will need to send it through on Dealership letterhead and clearly state the registration you are wanting to renew, the pay term you are wanting to renew for and you will also need to give QT permission to debit your DX account for the renewal fees.

You are also able to invalidate your transfer for failure to pay renewal at time of transfer as well, this will enable you to reprocess your transfer and pay the renewal at the same time.
