Locating an existing transaction in the GL |
Top Previous Next |
Searching is not as quick and easy in the General Ledger but there may be a reason that you need to view the complete GL entry for a transaction. Note that transactions are listed strictly in Journal number order in the General Ledger, so locating an entry will be simpler if you can narrow the date range down as far as possible, i.e. to a single day.
Opening the General Ledger Transaction Register lets you select which type of journal you wish to view: General Journals, Sales, Purchases, Disbursements, Receipts, Wages, Stock, & Contras, or you can view "All Journals".
By default the entries are shown in full, i.e. expanded so you see all the line items for each entry. To make locating a particular transaction easier, click the "Collapse All" button at the foot. Each entry will only display its title, and you can Expand a single entry by clicking on the Plus symbol to the left of the title, or use the "Expand All" button. |
